Tieflings (homo altumis, or (outdated) homo impotens) are a species of humanoids who inhabit Candever. Nearly 65,000 years ago, they were created by Kampion and continued to evolve independently for interspecies survival.
The first recognized tiefling in written history is the account of “ by X. Soon after, X was founded and had X population. This gave rise to a migratory spread across the original continent of X. Little evidence exists after the Fall of tieflings breeding with non-tieflings, but before then it was common. The result was, in almost every case (save for dragonborns and aasimars, outliers biologically), a child with the dominant tiefling physical traits and recessive genes of the other parent’s speciation.

Tieflings, at their inception originally maintained a low population and a close-knit nomadic culture. They predominantly ate , with X still remaining a cultural delicacy for tieflings. Examples of a lower intelligence, brutishness, or general incompetence due to being created after most other humanoid species have little substantiation and can be attributed to the millennia-long conflicts between tieflings and other humanoids. The residue of these conflicts is seen in modern Candever’s perpetuated fear of tieflings, turning them into creatures of myth and bedtime stories rather than a culture of complex humanoids.

9/22/23: Wow! This got more popular than I expected! I've seen some question in the tags, so here's some general things about this template. First off, it's static. This means you won't be able to edit it as you would a fandom wiki, you'll have to go into the HTML. You also can't import a wiki directly, since this doesn't use mediawiki. If you want to have a community for an existing media with dynamic editing instead of doing most of it yourself (this template is mostly targeted towards personal projects,) I'd recommend getting an actual wikifarm such as Miraheze. It's free, and if you run a fandom, you can request a direct dump!
